CrowdSourcing Michelle Obama’s Inaugural Gown

Having recently celebrated a milestone birthday, I have decided to blow the dust off of my lifelong dream of being a working, profitable fashion designer. Yes America, I have launched a one-woman online campaign to be selected as one of the clothing designers for our future First Lady, Michelle Obama.

Similar to David Letterman’s now infamous campaign to get Oprah Winfrey to appear on his show, my goal is to generate enough buzz so that Mrs. Obama will become aware of my fashion dream. I invite all America to visit my campaign headquarters at http://dressingmichelle.blogspot.com/ and cast your vote for your favorite designs. More sketches and polls will be posted over the coming weeks.

Employing a Web 2.0 idea, crowdsourcing, engaging the decision-making power of the public, I hope to build awareness and momentum for my campaign. I think this strategy is fitting because the Obama campaign itself successfully used crowdsourcing to energize millions of Americans to vote, volunteer, and donate to the campaign.

I’m Tonya Tate and I approved this message.
